Program overview
The Actors' Program is a one-year, intensive, industry-related course. Our tutors are all professional practitioners and potential employers currently working in the New Zealand stage and screen industry.
The course runs Monday - Thursday, 8.30am - 4.30pm, 38 weeks of the year. There are no essays, no written assignments and no points-based assessments; everything our actors do works towards performance.
We have only 16 places available on the program each year, so training is highly personal and individual.
The program runs on-site classes in theatres, film/TV sets, on location and in voice studios as well as our K Road studio.
The year ends with a showcase presentation of a short film at an Auckland cinema and a theatre production at The Basement. The actors are taught how to produce a show as well as perform in it.
The Actors' Program is a relevant, challenging, up-to-date training course for actors, and is strongly, uniquely and directly connected to the stage and screen industry.
